Solutions for Sun Java Enterprise System

iWay's Solution for Sun Microsystems Java Enterprise System provides access to over 300 applications, relational and nonrelational databases, and packaged applications on dozens of platforms and integrates them with the Sun Java Enterprise System. Using iWay Intelligent Adapters and Web services to create codeless, reusable connections, iWay Software reduces the time, cost, and risk of enterprise application integration.

The Sun Java Enterprise System is Sun's latest approach to designing and developing enterprise software. It provides an integrated core set of industry-leading enterprise network services, including:

  • Sun Java System Application Server
  • Sun Java System Message Queue
Portal Services
  • Sun Java System Portal Server
  • Network Identity Services
  • Sun Java System Directory Server
  • Sun Java System Access Manager

Together, these components of the Java Enterprise System enable enterprises to develop and deploy Web services and composite applications in a service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment.

Sun Java System Application Server

The Sun Java System Application Server versions 7 and 8 provide high-performance, small-footprint J2EE platforms for delivering enterprise-class application services and Web services. They provide fault tolerance, automatic self-repair, and a complete Web services infrastructure, as well as a high-performance Message Queue and the powerful Sun Java Studio Enterprise IDE. In addition to technologies available in version 7, version 8 supports J2EE 1.4 technology, the WS-I Basic Profile, JavaServer Faces, and technologies such as JAXM, JAXP, JAXR, JAX-RPC, SOAP, and WSDL.

iWay Intelligent Adapters customized for the Sun Java Enterprise System can be deployed on the Sun Java System Application Server to provide seamless access to over 300 back-end systems. The adapters leverage and interact with the J2EE Connector Architecture and Web services capabilities of the Application Server to allow developers to easily connect their J2EE applications to these back-end systems.

Sun Java System Message Queue

The Sun Java System Message Queue is a JMS 1.1-compliant, high-performance message-oriented middleware (MOM) for integrating disparate IT applications and data through secure and reliable exchange of asynchronous messages.

The iWay adapters interact with the JMS interfaces of the Sun Java System Message Queue to convey event information from the back-end systems to the J2EE environment of the Sun Application Server

Sun Java System Portal Server

The Sun Java System Portal Server provides all user, policy, and identity management services needed to enforce the security, single sign on and access capabilities to end user communities. The Sun Portal Server also delivers personalized content, applications, and services to end users by dynamically aggregating information based on an end user's role(s).

Developers can access data and business functions in the back-end systems in a personalized form through Portlets deployed on the Sun Java System Portal Server and interacting with iWay adapters.
